July 12, 2010 - InfoTrax is using Veryant's isCOBOL Application Platform Suite to provide customers with modern sales and marketing support applications. isCOBOL has helped InfoTrax seamlessly integrate Java technology and provide innovative SOA and Web Services-based tools.
InfoTrax was finding that more customers wanted SOA and Web Services-based tools to support their sales functions, and there was a growing need for the InfoTrax software to interface with a greater number of third-party products. The company decided to modernize its COBOL-based applications and integrate with newer technologies like Java and XML using Veryant's isCOBOL software.
For more than 30 years, InfoTrax has provided software solutions for direct sales and multi-level marketing organizations worldwide. The company's advanced tools help businesses with online distribution, warehouse automation, commission processing, sales organization maintenance, distributor communications and training, and much more.
InfoTrax previously used the ACUCOBOL-GT® Runtime Environment as its deployment platform, but really needed a partner who could deliver first on the technology requirements, and was willing to discuss the company's needs and find ways to meet them.

There were several key reasons that InfoTrax selected Veryant. isCOBOL could be deployed quickly with few source code changes, which saved the company time and money. In addition, isCOBOL provided the most portable solution and offered multi-language localization capabilities with strong Unicode support.

InfoTrax's development team was largely unaffected by the move to isCOBOL. Going forward, the company will be moving basic application functionality to the Java platform. Veryant has provided InfoTrax with a flexible architecture for the future.
